2020-2021 School Year Hybrid Learning Meal Distribution

USDA has extended free meals to all children ages 1-18 through June 2021.
 
 

Breakfast & Lunch Pickup:

New for Hybrid Learning! Monday and Wednesday pickup times are 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Please stop by at the time that works best for your family!

 

Friday Extra Eats Pickup:

8:00 am - 10:00 am

 

Pickup Locations:

Preschool: Ramona (Mondays & Wednesdays Only)

Elementary Schools: All locations in La Mirada & Norwalk 

Middle Schools: Los Alisos

High Schools: John Glenn High, La Mirada High, Norwalk High

 

Through June 2021, meals are free for children 1-18.

  • Be prepared to provide student ID number or name and address of younger children not yet enrolled in school.
  • On Monday, the meal package will contain 4 breakfasts and 4 lunch meals (including the weekend) per child.
  • On Wednesday, the meal package will contain 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches per child.
  • On Friday, the meal package will contain 7 days of various meal and snack items. 
  • NLMUSD Nutrition Services is not responsible for food once it has left the district pickup site.

Important Meal Application Information

  1. Complete a meal application HERE for the new school year to see if you qualify for meals at no charge to you.
    • Meal applications support educational funding for your child.
    • If eligible, the notification letter can be used to request a discount for your Internet provider and certain utilities. AT&T Internet customers, click here.
    • If you have not completed a meal application for the new school year, do so now.
  2. Parents/guardians are responsible to complete a new meal application every year to find out eligibility for free meals or if meals need to be paid for by the parent/guardian.
  3. Meals may also be purchased for a reasonable price at $2.50 for a breakfast and $3.50 for a lunch meal. Through June 2021, meals are at no cost to families
  4. Cash will not be accepted at the school sites during the pandemic. 

 

Meal Pickup Information

  • Parents or guardians may pick up the meals for their children enrolled in NLMUSD.
  • A mask must be worn.
  • Practice physical distancing by standing at least 6-feet from others.
  • Stay home, if you are ill.

While our students are hybrid and distance learning, we will continue to provide nutritious meals that may be picked up, three times a week, to enjoy at home. If you have been financially affected during this pandemic, we may be able to help with providing meals for your NLMUSD students.
